Firm History
In 2021, Samy founded KHALIL LAW PLLC – a white-collar boutique based in Houston, Texas – after nearly 20 years’ experience handling complex government investigations and federal criminal matters.
Joshua Lake joined the Firm in 2022 after eight years in public service, two at the Colorado State Public Defender Office and six at the Federal Public Defender in Houston. Joshua is a 2012 graduate of Georgetown Law.
In 2024, the Firm became known as KHALIL & LAKE.

Samy Khalil
Samy is known for his ability to investigate and discover information that oftentimes goes unearthed. His doggedness and determination were honed at the Federal Public Defender’s Office, where he worked early in his career to defend individuals against prosecutions charging virtually every violation under the Federal Criminal Code.
Joshua Lake
Joshua has successfully represented clients through government investigations, formal charges, and appeals involving a variety of federal charges, including allegations of complex fraud, international money laundering, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations. Joshua's innovative, strategic thinking helps clients find the best possible solution to their problem.
